Lori Hanna Wins ServiceBook Monthly – January 2008 CASE Grant Competition

January 13, 2008 – Lori Hanna, UD senior in mechanical engineering, and her faculty advisor, Dr. Margaret Pinnel, were awarded a $1,000 Carter Academic Service Entrepreneur (CASE) grant from ServiceBook.org for her Solar Autoclave project. The Solar Autoclave project will provide rural health clinics in Nicaragua the ability to sterilize medical instruments. The grant money will be used for testing and prototyping supplies during research and development of the autoclave, especially in-country.
